Terms of Service

By creating an account, you agree to these terms. They're written in plain English — please read them.

Your Account

You must be 13 or older to use Cook With Me. If you're under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission.
You're responsible for keeping your password secure. Don't share your account with others.
One account per person.
We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.

What You Can Do

Cook With Me is for personal, non-commercial use. You can:

Save, customize, and organize recipes for your own cooking
Use AI-powered suggestions and Cook With Me mode for your household
Import recipes from the web for your personal use

What You Can't Do

Don't try to break, hack, or overload the service
Don't use the service for anything illegal
Don't impersonate another person or create fake accounts
Don't scrape or copy our content in bulk

Your Content

Recipes you create or customize are yours.You own them. We don't claim ownership of content you create.

Recipes you importremain owned by their original creators. By importing a recipe, you're creating a personal copy for your own cooking — not claiming ownership of someone else's work.

Seed recipeswe provide are for your personal use within the app. Please don't copy them out to republish elsewhere.

By using Cook With Me, you give us permission to store and display your content within the app so the service can work. We don't use your content for anything else.

AI-Generated Content

Meal suggestions, cooking tips, "Where Was I?" summaries, and other AI responses are generated by Claude (Anthropic). A few important things:

AI suggestions can be wrong. We make no guarantees about accuracy, completeness, or nutritional information.

You use AI suggestions at your own risk, especially for anything involving food allergies, intolerances, or medical dietary needs. Always double-check ingredients if you have a serious allergy.

AI responses are not a substitute for professional nutrition or medical advice.

Food Safety

Cooking involves real risks — heat, sharp tools, raw ingredients. Cook With Me provides guidance to help you, but:

We're not responsible for foodborne illness, injuries, or allergic reactions from recipes or suggestions in the app.

Always verify ingredients against your household's dietary restrictions and allergies. The AI can make mistakes.

Follow standard food safety practices: proper cooking temperatures, safe food handling, etc.

If you have a serious food allergy, don't rely solely on our app to verify safety.

Service Availability

We work hard to keep Cook With Me running, but:

We can't guarantee 100% uptime — outages happen
We may add, change, or remove features over time
If we ever need to shut down the service, we'll give reasonable notice

Limitation of Liability

Cook With Me is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law:

We're not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app
Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us (currently $0 for free users)
This includes damages from AI suggestions, recipe content, or cooking outcomes

Termination

You can delete your account anytime
We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms
When your account is deleted, your data is removed per our Privacy Policy

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Pennsylvania, USA. Disputes that can't be resolved informally will be handled through binding arbitration or small claims court — not class action lawsuits.

Changes to These Terms

If we make significant changes, we'll let you know by email. Continued use of Cook With Me after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
